Most Web users aware of Google PageRank have noticed that new Web pages are no longer assigned a Google PR.
Some speculate that PR did not work properly in the beginning, which may have contributed to the end of PR assignments.
Existing sites that have been assigned PR will continue to have PR.
Why's Google PR so important? Some believed Google PR was representative of organic search results and for the most part it was. However, over time many sites that were maniplated by SEOers were given high PRs. In the end PR had too many loopholes and no longer accurately represented SE organic rankings.
The last new Web pages that were assigned Google PRs was in the end of June 2005. Typically, new Web pages aren't assigned Google PR... and guess what? There's a loophole to get PR assignments for new web pages. |
